Iamblichus of Chalcis (c. 245 – c.325 CE) was a Neoplatonic philosopher who was also an initiate of Egyptian temple and mystery school teachings of the Graeco-Roman world in the third-fourth centuries of the Common Era.
Theurgy literally means “God-work” or Divine-work and Iamblichus teachings about harmonising and working with Divine presence and power in pagan priestly mysteries had a huge impact on the western understanding of mysticism and magic.
