Within the Mists of Avalon

Cornwall, UK

With Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki
and Andy Cooper

An almost unbelievable opportunity…

In 2008 Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki and Andy Cooper co-wrote and facilitated a weekend magical working in Tintagel entitled “Within the Tower of Merlin.” This working consisted of a series of rituals designed to reconnect the ‘Otherworld’ of Logres with the physical Realm of Avalon, the Blessed Isles. It proved to be a profound, powerful and deeply magical experience for the participants and set in force a current of magical energy throughout the Blessed Isles that now requires direction and focus for the healing of the land to be continued.

“Within the Mists of Avalon” is a three-day gathering taking the work achieved during the previous “Merlin” workshop to the next level. Once again we will practice the magic of King Arthur in the very places where he once lived and breathed. Imagine yourself:

•    Performing ritual in the ruins of King Arthur’s castle at Tintagel, Cornwall, England.
•    Involved in a dramatic ritual within the gloomy depths of Merlin’s Cave.
•    Directing the energy of the Red and White Dragons of Albion.
•    Experiencing magic of a higher order than you have ever known before.

All under the guidance and facilitation of two Third Degree Initiates widely experienced in Arthurian legend, lore and magical practice, Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki and Andy Cooper.

WORKING WITH THE ELEMENTAL WORLD
©2009 Worldwide copyright to Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki

One of the basic forms of knowledge needed when you begin a study of the Inner Mysteries is that of the World of the Elements. YOU, as a human Being are composed of these four elements. Your physical body is composed mainly of water, (we are basically sea creatures for we evolved from the ocean ) it holds minute quantities of every earth mineral for what we eat contains those minerals and they build our bones, flesh, and physical form. We breathe air, without it we dies, and within us we carry a central core of body heat that keeps us at the temperature we require for our health. So, Earth, Water, Fire, and Air are all present within us from the moment of birth. On our death those components are no longer held together and decay into their natural form.
We use our mastery of these elements in all magical work, but we have to earn that mastery. The elements within our body are under our control, those outside us must be contacted and befriended in order to win their support Some people have the ability to draw these elements to them and earn their respect. Most of these people are what we call The Craft, or witches. Their kind of magical work is 90% to do with the elements.

However those who work in ceremonial magic also need to make enough contact with the elements and elementals to be able to use them in ritual and ceremony.

This workshop is designed to explain their presence in our lives, their powers and dangers and the correct way to use them in ritual conditions.

EARTH: elemental King is GHOB, The Angelic Ruler of the element is Uriel
WATER: elemental King is Nixa, the Angelic Ruler in Gabriel.
FIRE; elemental King is Djinn, Angelic Ruler is Michael.
AIR; elemental King is Paralda, the Angelic Ruler is Raphael.

The Seven Teachers of Alexandria

Lindenfels near Frankfort on Maine (Germany)

With Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki
and Salomo Baal-Shem

So much has been written about the Great Library of Alexandria that it could almost filly the Library itself. We know where it was located, we have a reasonably idea of how it looked. We know many of the great names that were associated with it. We have a few scattered fragments of what was left after it was destroyed. However we know very little of what actually went on within its walls, or how its students were taught.

We can only surmise from reports of those who once walked it hallowed rooms and studies with its great teachers. Tradition holds that there were always seven main or senior teachers who between them covered most of the subjects that were taught there. Hypatia, Basilides, Euclid, Aristophanes, Heraclitis and many others were among them but there were also other who are not remembered by history. Khu-Nef-Ren of the White Walled city of On, the first of all the ancient libraries, a city of many temples each of which had its own library. Aphros of Chios, and Serenas of Bodrum among them.

How did one become a student, how were they taught? Was it like a present day university or did one simply walk in and listen to whoever was speaking? Did they have exams as we do? Did they get on together, after all it was said that both men and women from all parts of the known world came there to study, and/or to teach.

It was the first and perhaps.... the last time all faiths and belief systems would come together and live in comparative peace with each other. Each one there merely to learn, not to decry or evangalise. Would that it was so today. So how can we ascertain what it would have been like for someone like our selves, a Seeker of Knowledge to visit and study in ancient Alexandria? We have letters from some, a very few, of those teachers. We have accounts from some of those who studied there. We have a few records, some dubious, from schools and societies who claim to have held them for centuries for prosperity and for when the time seemed right for them to be brought to light.

Much of this we can discount but some hold a ring of truth. This workshop will try to unravel some of these questions. It will look at a few of the Teachers, some known, some unknown, and how and what they taught. But most of all we will try to re build this wonderful time in the mind and in the inner eye. We will try to cross time and space and become..... students in Alexandria.

Do not miss this fascinating event…

The Drowned Lands

Seelie Court, DE

With Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki
Sponsored by Assembly of the Sacred Wheel

For centuries the discussion about the reality of Atlantis has raged both for and against. More books about its surmised position have been written than any other mystery of the past. It has been placed in the Mediterranean, the Carribean, off the Bahamas, and West Africa and even the South Pole.

Certainly there are some very good theories out there and in this workshop we will be looking at them and assessing them. Many psychics, some of them notable in their time have given their impressions of how it would have looked, how its people would have dressed, behaved, worshipped etc.

Atlantis was not the only land lost to the Sea. The Pacific also has its mysteries in the tales of Lemuria and Mu. While Atlantis has cornered the market of books, films and TV, the myriad islands of the Pacific offers slightly more tangible evidence of a once great continent that, like its Atlantic sister was lost to the sea.

While the legends of Atlantis tell of a high level of technology and the sacred science of magic, Mu and Lemuria speak of decadance, cruelty, war, destruction and cannibalism. What can we make of these tales?

We can look at the evidence of similar cultures, symbols, language, religious practices and try to make sense of them. We can create images and fill them with our own trained mind power and try to make them live again, long enough to perhaps give us some clues as to their ultimate fate and its cause.

We will of course have the usual Saturday ritual, this one taken from the workshop of "Within the Temple of Atlantis" The Marriage of the Sun and the Moon. You will need robes for the ritual. Black for the women and white for the men.

For further information, please see the attached flyer.

The Serpent Fire

Philadelphia, PA

With Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki
Sponsored by New Seed Sanctuary

©2010 worldwide copyright to D. Ashcroft-Nowicki

Ninety percent of people reading about Tantra, Kundalini, or The Serpent Fire immediately think about sex, and there is an association with the creative sexual power and the Spine, but it is by no means just that one aspect that makes it a powerful magical and mental tool.

The spine is the original Magic Wand (it even has a point of Light at its tip) but it is also connected to another powerful symbol, the Uas staff used by the priesthood of ancient Egypt. It is the mental, creative and spiritual aspect that is presented in this workshop.

Most people are familiar with the symbol of the snake goddess coiled at the base of the spine, and with the series of chakras or centres that rise along the spine. This force is usually shown as exploding from the Crown chakra, but I want to put before you another and equally powerful experience that connects the spine and the reptilian brain, the first of our multiple brains and, it can be argued, still a primal, powerful and active part of humanities make up.

So no, you won’t be learning new sexual techniques in this workshop, what you will be learning is how to connect with The Point of God at the tip of the Coccyx, and link it to the mental and spiritual creative power of the Kundalini Serpent. You will learn to consciously climb the spiral stairway of the Spine using the Serpent Fire as an aid and experiencing the different powers that are concealed within it.

You will establish the symbolic Uas Staff in the spine and awaken the powers of the Sacral, Lumbar, Thoracic, and Cervical areas and how to flow their powers into the Reptilian brain in order to empower the ancestral memories and powers of our ancestors.

Let me warn you that not everyone will achieve great results. A lot depends on your ability to visualise, to create the right perception and belief within your mind, and most importantly to maintain discipline of any powers that do emerge. Make no mistake - this is not a workshop for the faint hearted or for neophytes. Bring with you a small flat cushion or mat, a six inch candle in a holder, and a square of black material large enough to cover the head and face. Leave any inhibitions at home!

THE WORLD OF FAERIE

© 2010 worldwide copyright to D.Ashcroft-Nowicki

It was the Victorians who put forward the idea of Fairies as minute butterfly-winged creatures. Their pictures, illustrations, and idea of the world of the Fae have been taken as a definition since then.

But is it a true picture? If we look further back in time we find that the inhabitants of the Otherworld are, like ourselves in this world, composed of many different types. What we actually call fairies probably entered our racial consciousness from the Scandanavian mythos, but there is evidence that another and much older kind existed in Europe long before than.

Elves, Pixies, Hobs, Dwarves, Sidhe, Devas, Nature sprites, Dryads, Nixies, etc are all a part of an unseen dimension that has many doorways through which we can pass, if we are lucky. Britain and Europe seem to have been a major area for these Other Beings but interestingly we find evidence that as immigration to the New World from these areas grew in volume there began to appear reports of such creatures immigrating with human beings.

We will be looking at evidence of this and also of how the counterparts of the Fae in the USA have taken what amounts to an invasion. In this workshop (Friday evening/all day Saturday) we will look at the many ‘racial’ types known to us through stories, folklore, tradition, and the rarer personal contacts that have occurred down the ages. Bascially we are asking “Do the Fae exist?"; ”What are they?"; "What is this Otherworld?"; "Can it be visited, touched or communicated with?"

SONGS, DANCES, AND CAROLS OF THE OLD RELIGION

© 2010 worldwide copyright to D. Ashcroft-Nowicki

Many have asked for a more in depth look at the songs from The Village Tradition, so we have decided to offer a session running from 9:30am to 3:00pm on the Sunday. This will include some of the dances and carols that reflect the Pagan way of worship. These songs belong to a by gone age - one that will not come again. But by passing them on, we can ensure that a small part of that time will live on. You may be surprised how familiar the songs will seem and how quickly you will pick up the tune.

Opening the Ways of the Wise

Hawkwood - Gloucester, UK

With Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki
and Steve Critchley

This weekend promises to be a memorable time between the worlds where old ways will meet new ways and ways will be opened. It will be a time of learning and of practical experience through teaching, prayer, meditation, pathworking, dance and ritual. We will hear, songs, chants and stories of old as we gather around the Cauldron of Wisdom before the fire of the hearth – which has always been sacred to the Lady.

Modern Wicca is very different to Traditional British Craft - yet there are similarities and both are connected to the Mysteries of the Great Goddess and the Horned God. There are many traditions
within the Craft as a whole – some of which are very old, some new and others that have receded until the time is right for them to emerge again through the devotion of those who dance in the light of the Sun and Moon and the inbetween places wherein lies true Magic.

The Craft is a vibrant living tradition. The Old Ones move among us and there is a need of their great truth, wisdom and light as we seek to walk in the Ways of the Wise. The Old Ones have always taught those who seek truly with an open heart – with dedication and devotion. This residential and fully-catered weekend workshop will be a valuable, enriching and potent experience for those who are already practitioners of the Craft. Applications to attend the event are welcome from those who already have a degree of ritual experience - it is not suitable for absolute beginners.

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Click here for further information and booking form.
